MA State Representative, 34th Middlesex District
Christine Barber is a State Representative from the 34thMiddlesex district, which includes neighborhoods in Somerville and Medford. Christine participated in Emerge when she was running for Ward Alderman in Somerville. While that race was not successful, she used the skills she learned to come back and win election to the state legislature in 2014. Before being elected State Representative, Christine worked on progressive issues as a local community leader. As a policy analyst at a national health care advocacy organization, she worked to create policies that provide people with access to health care and improve quality of care. Christine also worked as staff in the Massachusetts State House, where she helped develop the 2006 Massachusetts Health Care Reform law. Christine holds a BA in Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross and a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
