Jasmine is the director of The Progressive Project (TPP) and a student at Harvard Divinity School. The Progressive Project connects people and communities to political action and develops new organizing models and strategies.
In 2008, TPP worked in six cities to engage people in the Obama for President and No- on-Proposition 8 campaigns. Since launching TPP in 2004, Jasmine has worked as a community organizer and volunteer on local, state and national campaigns. In her studies at Harvard Divinity School, Jasmine is training to be a chaplain and is pursuing ordination within the United Church of Christ tradition.
Raised in North Carolina, Jasmine earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Masters of Fine Arts from the MFA Program at Warren Wilson.
She teaches fiction writing at Emerson College and has taught writing in prisons in North Carolina. Her writing has appeared in the Democratic Strategist, Alternet, The Harvard Review, American Short Fiction and other publications.
