Senior Policy Advisor, Executive Office of Public Safety and Security

Nurys Z. Camargo (Dorchester) has had significant roles on various campaigns, including Deputy Director of Constituency for Senator John Kerry’s presidential campaign, Regional Field Organizer for the Obama for America Presidential Campaign, and, most recently, Deputy Campaign Manager for Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick’s Re-election campaign, during which she created, implemented and managed the overall campaign strategy for the Community Relations department. Nurys co-directed the Get Out The Vote Effort for 146 High Priorities Precincts throughout the state.

Andrea Joy Campbell currently serves as the Boston City Councilor for District 4, which includes the neighborhoods of Dorchester and Mattapan, and parts of Roslindale and Jamaica Plain. She previously served as deputy legal counsel in the office of Governor Deval L. Patrick.

Chief of Staff, State Rep. Allen

Natalie Carithers is currently the Chief of Staff for State Representative Willie Mae Allen.  She is also a radio personality on TOUCH 106.1FM’s The Morning Show.  Natalie is a native Bostonian and is a graduate of Hyde Park High and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from Northeastern University. She is a mother of two.  Both of her children graduated from Boston Public Schools.  During her children’s primary education, Natalie was very active in their schools.

Leominster City Councilor

Sue joined the Emerge class when she narrowly lost her race for State Representative. Emerge gave her to tools to start her next campaign stronger than ever and run it smarter.

Brookline Town Meeting

Chris Chanyasulkit is currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Science at Northeastern University and conducts research in the area of health policy. Chris works in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard School of Public Health and serves as a Research Program Manager at Vaccine Technologies, Inc.  After earning a B.A. degree at Boston University, with dual majors in Biology and Art History, she took a year off and joined AmeriCorps.

Michelle Ciccolo is the President and CEO of The Ciccolo Group, LLC - a  Municipal and Community Development consulting firm she started in 2008.  She is presently serving a three-year term 2014-2017 as an elected member of the Lexington Board of Selectmen and was previously an elected member of Lexington's Planning Board. Michelle has more than two decades of experience working at all levels of government with a focus on local and regional government.

Senior Associate for Community Capacity Building, Community Training and Assistance Center

Ileana Cintrón (East Boston) currently serves as Senior Associate for Community Capacity Building at Community Training and Assistance Center (CTAC) in Boston. At CTAC, Ileana manages the Support for Organizing Communities Program, providing technical assistance to increase the effectiveness, deepen the impact and build the sustainability of community organizing groups across the northeast region.

Dental Practitioner

Jean Connor (Cambridge) was the 2007-2008 President of the Chicago-based American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA). She has served in numerous positions within ADHA, including five years as District I Trustee, Director of the Oral Health Institute, ADHA Delegate and Student Alternate Delegate, as well as both the President-elect and Vice President. She also served four years as Treasurer of the ADHA Political Action Committee.  Her contributions have lead to her recognition as Hygienist of the Year by the MDHA along with the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Stefanie Coxe has spent a decade serving the Cape Cod community, working for expanded economic opportunities, environmental preservation, and improvement of the public trust. A Mayflower descendant, she has dedicated her career to preserving the community character that natives, transplants, and tourists alike have come to cherish. A longtime legislative aide to First Barnstable District State Representative Cleon Turner of Dennis, Stefanie shares the representative’s values of good communication with local leaders and excellent constituent services. Educational Consultant, Knowledge Points Tutoring

Ayanna C .Crawford (Springfield) is the proud mother of two school age children.  She currently is an Educational Consultant for Knowledge Points Tutoring program in Ashland, MA.   She also worked for the Springfield Public Schools as an academic intervention teacher for social emotional children. She has been a guest lecturer at Smith College on “Best Practices for literacy development in Urban Schools” in the education department at Smith College.

Marcia Cruz-Redding is a strong career oriented professional who focuses on mentoring and helping people (men, women, young adults, girls and boys) into becoming aware of the necessity of being prepared to become productive members of society. Marcia has strong communications and interpersonal skills as well as international experience. She lived in Brazil, Nicaragua, Kenya, Togo and USA. She is a multi-lingual specialist in building relationships with and between individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.

Campaign Manager, Organizer, Researcher, & Writer

Jen Deerinwater is a staunch radical feminist and an activist for Native, bisexual, disabled, the poor, and reproductive justice and rights. Jen is a graduate of the University of Southern California, Simmons College, and the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and the inaugural class of Emerge Massachusetts. Jen has managed and organized electoral and issue based campaigns.

Legislative Aide, State Sen. Spilka

Colby Dillon is a Legislative Aide to Massachusetts State Senator Karen Spilka. Colby graduated from Tufts University in 2008, with a double major in Political Science and Child Development. While attending Tufts, Colby interned for a year at The Home for Little Wanderers reviewing and analyzing legislation related to children and families. She also completed a Senior Honors Thesis titled "Juvenile Justice: Reviving a Failed System and Restoring Its Promise," which she presented at the Tufts University Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium.
